We have an action-packed adventure waiting for you in these special days devoted to all things Twilight. Right after an afternoon welcome orientation, you’ll be treated to a whirlwind afternoon tour to film locations in the Portland, Oregon area. Plenty of time for photos of these accessible film locations. There will also be opportunities to stop and purchase a treat at some of the locations along the way.
Gather for a hotel reception and share photos from this afternoon’s adventure before our evening Pajama Party! Not only will this party be great fun, it will also get you ready for our Midnight showing of Twilight!
Snuggle down in the fireplace room while award-winning Native American
storyteller, Antoinette Botsford,
weaves glorious tales of wolf children, engages us in interactive activities
and creates a truly magical evening for all of us Twilight fans! A light dinner
buffet will be available. A northwest native with family ties to indigenous
North American and Celtic cultures, Antoinette Botsford delights in stories that stretch our way of seeing things. Actress, teacher, and
journalist, and for the last twenty years as a storyteller, she reaches into her own life journeys to spin tales of “traditional
and true” that will expand your sense of reality and possibility. Besides sharing some of her juicy stock of stories, she will
lead a special hands-on project that will help you always to remember Twilight and its imprint in your own life. We’ll
depart in plenty of time to enjoy any line parties for the Midnight showing of Twilight! There is nothing like watching a
movie with a group of fans and nothing quite so memorable as watching it right in the middle of all these beautiful film
locations!
After an amazing and action-filled day, we’ll head back to our hotel for a long slumber.
For all three nights of your Twilight Fan Trip, we’ll enjoy accommodations at the beautiful 4-star Multnomah Hotel.
Built in 1912, the historic Multnomah evokes an earlier time of romance and sophistication; you can just imagine
Edward Cullen feeling very much at home here! With extensive and comfy public areas, you’ll find plenty of space to
gather with friends and discuss the growing excitement for the trip and the first movie release!
As an Embassy Suites property, your rooms are generously-sized with a separate sleeping and living area. Join your friends for late-night chats in the privacy of your room for more intimate discussions.
Have a lie-in to recover from our Midnight Show then enjoy a cooked-to-order breakfast buffet at your leisure. Grab your tennis shoes for a lovely day out in the Columbia River Gorge. We have organized a fantastic day of easy walking into the Gorge and visiting film locations guided by a member of the Friends of the Gorge who assisted with pre-shoot organizing of the Twilight movie. While walking in “Edward’s footsteps”, our guide will share stories of the difficult conditions the crew had to undergo when filming in ice, snow and rain! The Columbia Gorge is a spectacular river canyon 85 miles long and up to 4,000 feet deep. This wild and beautiful place has also served as a human corridor for tens of thousands of years, and was visited by Lewis and Clark and traversed by thousands of Oregon Trail pioneers. How fortunate we are that Summit Entertainment chose to film in this breathtaking location!
Spend the day seeing the trees, the cliffs, the water from Edward’s eyes. Don’t forget to bring your cameras for some of the most amazing photos you’ll ever take! After crossing the river back to the Oregon side, we’ll have a rest at the cozy
Multnomah Falls Lodge built in 1925. Plummeting 620 feet from its origins on Larch Mountain, Multnomah Falls, another Twilight film location on your tour, is the second highest year-round waterfall in the nation. After a short walk with a naturalist who assisted with pre-shoot organizing of the movie, we’ll settle down to enjoy authentic northwestern cuisine for lunch, served in a rustic, romantic setting. But save room for dessert…..
A special afternoon treat has been planned at yet another film location, the romantic View Point Inn, where Bella and Edward share a few moments on the verandah after the prom. The Inn has created a special dessert reception just for Twilight Fan Trips including a slide show of photos taken of the cast and crew while filming at the View Point Inn, see props used from the movie and enjoy treats created just for us by their renowned chef. Relax, walk about the property and take plenty of photos and enjoy!
After a beautiful ride back to downtown Portland you’ll have time to relax before enjoying the Multnomah Hotel’s evening reception.
Enjoy a cooked-to-order breakfast buffet at your leisure then get ready for a day full of exclusive discussions, film locations, food and a fantastic Pub dinner!
We’ll spend all morning in St. Helens, Oregon, an inviting small town near the riverfront where Summit Entertainment chose to film a number of scenes for Twilight. The Olde Towne portion of St. Helens features a Nationally Registered Historic District which includes residences and civic buildings dating back nearly a century.
After a guided walking tour of downtown St Helen’s and free time for photos and shopping, another exclusive opportunity awaits. We have very special permission to visit the privately owned location used as the “Bloated Toad” - the restaurant where Edward and Bella have their heart-felt conversation. During this extraordinary visit you will have a unique opportunity to hear a film location scout describe just how film locations are chosen. A fascinating discussion you don’t want to miss! We’ll also be enjoying lunch today at the “Bloated Toad”. Feel free to chat with the owner and get a first-person perspective of what it is like to have your property transformed for Hollywood!
Enjoy some free time with friends or walking about downtown Portland before our last dinner together.
Dinner will be a fun event at a local brew pub – just one of the things which Portland is famous for!
A perfect end to a perfect Fan Trip!
